Chevy Electric Hybrid in 2010

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

I’m curious to see how the cars on the road change as gas continues to be more expensive… Here’s Chevy’s potential contribution:

Chevy Volt

4 seater electric/hybrid vehicle that gets 40 miles per charge on electricity alone (it recharges from a standard outlet), and about 50 mpg after that. It looks like it’ll be costing somewhere north of $35,000 but less than $40,000.

Icebergs with colored strips

Thursday, June 5th, 2008
Found this forward in my inbox, more of nature’s majesty and beauty.
Icebergs with colored strips are amazing creations.

Blue stripes are often created when a crevice in the ice sheet fills up with meltwater and freezes so quickly that no bubbles form.

When an iceberg falls into the sea, a layer of salty seawater can freeze to the underside. If this is rich in algae, it can form a green stripe.

Brown, black and yellow lines are caused by sediment, picked up when the ice sheet grinds downhill towards the sea.
